Hot Stones at The Self Center
Experience Serenity Firsthand with Kristn Harrison.
Smooth basalt heated stones, soothing aromatherapy, foot reflexology and the healing energies of Reiki make for a truly unique massage experience. The combination of energy placement, trigger point pressure and heat helps to open pathways, improve circulation, and promote deep relaxation.
Kristin says ...The foundation of my work is an energy based Swedish-style blend of circulatory massage and trigger point pressure, which is very relaxing and lulls many of my clients into a restful sleep. This style uses long flowing strokes and focuses on helping your body feel balanced and nurtured. I specialize in bodywork that combines a soothing touch with deeper techniques that both relax the senses and break up areas of tension. When doing deeper tissue work, I don't believe in more pain, more gain. Muscle tissues will tense in an attempt to protect your body if the pressure is too deep. I prefer to work with your tissues to find the depth in which your muscles can melt open and relax. I also incorporate Energy Healing, Aromatherapy and Foot Reflexology techniques to further release tight muscles and to assist the body’s natural healing process.
I am a Nationally Certified and Massachusetts Licensed Massage Therapist, and Reiki Practitioner, with a certified membership through ABMP (www.abmp.com). I graduated from Healing Touch Institute in Wakefield, MA in the spring of 2004. I have taken various courses and workshops to further enhance my knowledge and skills to better service my clients, including Therapeutic Massage for Fibroymyalgia, Foot Reflexology, Hot Stones, Chair Massage, Aromatherapy, and Energy Based Modalities.
Using my intuitive wisdom and healing hands, I tailor a specific treatment designed to suit the needs of each client. Each body is unique, and I enjoy the challenge and discovery that unfolds in each session. I enjoy helping people and it comes through in every massage that I give.
Additionally, I hold a B. S. in Exercise Physiology and am certified as a personal trainer through the American College of Exercise. I believe strongly in the mind/body connection and am very passionate for all aspects of fitness and wellness.
